Sorry for stealing your children

Today Australia said sorry for the ’stolen generations’ . Rudd is doing all the right things (Kyoto, education, this), and I couldn’t be more pleased that Labour won this election. It’s no surprise John Howard was the only surviving PM of Australia not present today. The speech was heartfelt and I think really ‘united the nation’ in a way that the usual Parliamentary bickering does the opposite. Good on ya Kevin.

Now for the action – and I still think compensation is in order and most (incl the Govt) think not. It depends what they do now. As he says it’s actions not sentiment that matters and will be remembered.
