Automattic announced on Tuesday that they’ve raised $30m in additional funding, and this includes an increased stake by the NY Times. This is fantastic news. Automattic’s most famous product is of course Wordpress, but they have developed other great open source products too, and clearly plan to do a helluva lot more.

Wordpress is easily the best blogging platform out there, but needn’t be used just for blogging - it’s a great way for non-technical people to update their websites.
