Alternate domain extensions

Ever felt frustrated that you can’t find a .com for the domain you have in mind? I know I have - many times. Although .net, .org etc are becoming more acceptable, they are easy to get wrong and they’re definitely second place to a .com

Matt announced today that he has transferred his personal domain to Ma.tt - what a fantastic idea! He’s using the extension for Trinidad and Tobago. Companies like deli.cio.us have used this concept to great effect already - but having such a unique and short domain name is certainly appealing.

I immediately jumped onto this IANA site for a list of country top level domains and have submitted my request to the Netherlands Antilles. Given that the country will basically be dissolved as such by the end of the year, I’m not hugely hopeful of acquiring http://bry.an but it’s gottta be worth a shot!
